A Call to Action by the Executive Director
At Maui AIDS Foundation, we believe every person deserves to be seen, respected, and welcomed for who they are. For over 40 years, MAF has been giving no-cost testing, treatment, and wrap-around services to our Maui County Community.
There is economic pressure, fear, and so much rhetoric telling LGBTQIA+ people, especially trans people, to be smaller, quieter, less visible. That is why community support is essential. It is a reminder that on Maui, we show up for each other. That is what ‘We Rise Together’ means.
Dr. Bryan Chin’s note to you is, “Sometimes the first step toward healing, connection, and care is simply knowing there’s a place where you belong.”
As the ED, I believe that as a target of the Federal Administration’s FY27 Budget, the intent is to cut funding completely. MAF Ohana invites the community, our elected officials, our partners, and our donors to stand with us.
