On June 13, 2026, our community will once again gather on Market Street in the heart of Wailuku for the 3rd Annual Maui Pride Festival. This year’s theme, We Rise Together, reflects the strength of a community that continues to show up for one another with courage, compassion, and aloha.

Maui Pride is more than a celebration. It is a powerful reminder that when we stand together, we create space for truth, visibility, and belonging. Across the country, LGBTQIA+ communities continue to face policies and rhetoric that challenge our right to live openly and safely. Transgender people, in particular, have experienced a surge of targeted legislation that threatens access to healthcare, dignity, and equal participation in public life. These realities remind us why Pride is still necessary and why community matters now more than ever. Here in Maui County, we answer those challenges with unity and resilience.

Our islands have long honored the sacredness of identity. In Native Hawaiian culture, Māhū individuals have historically held respected and meaningful roles within society, embodying balance, wisdom, and cultural strength. This legacy reminds us that diversity has always been part of Hawaiʻi’s story, and it continues to shape the way our community shows up for one another today.

Last year, Maui Pride demonstrated the power of that unity. In 2025, more than 4,000 people filled Wailuku’s historic Market Street, creating a vibrant and unforgettable celebration of love, identity, and community. Families, allies, businesses, cultural practitioners, and community leaders gathered together to uplift LGBTQIA+ voices and celebrate the diversity that makes Maui strong.

Building on that momentum, the 2026 Maui Pride Festival will continue to expand this space of visibility and belonging. The festival will bring together local organizations, cultural performers, community advocates, businesses, and allies in a day dedicated to celebration, education, and connection.

The theme We Rise Together reminds us that progress happens when communities stand united. It means uplifting voices that have been marginalized, protecting the dignity of every person, and ensuring that future generations grow up knowing they belong.

Together, we will continue to build a Maui where everyone can live openly, safely, and proudly. We invite you to stand with us as we celebrate community, visibility, and the power of rising together. With gratitude.

MISSION & PURPOSE
Maui AIDS Foundation (MAF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) health and social service organization committed to advancing health equity and improving quality of life across Maui County since 1986. The organization provides comprehensive, culturally competent services to individuals and communities most impacted by health and social disparities, including people living with HIV, hepatitis, and other sexually transmitted infections; individuals impacted by substance use; incarcerated populations; LGBTQIA+ and Māhū communities; women at risk; Native Hawaiian communities; and individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

VISION
A Maui where LGBTQIA+ communities, including transgender and Māhū individuals, are fully visible, celebrated, and supported. A future where Pride reflects not only celebration, but sustained access to affirming care, safe spaces, and equitable opportunities across Maui County.

HISTORY & LEADERSHIP

For over 40 years, Maui AIDS Foundation has led efforts to support and uplift LGBTQIA+ communities across Maui County. As an early response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, the organization built trusted relationships and created space for care, advocacy, and visibility.

Maui AIDS Foundation was the first organization to organize Pride on Maui, establishing a foundation for visibility, connection, and community at a time when it was most needed. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a recognized and expanding Pride presence that brings together both residents and visitors.

Maui is a global destination recognized for its culture, beauty, and strong sense of community. Each year, Pride brings together local residents alongside visitors from across Hawaiʻi, the continental United States, and international markets. These audiences actively seek out businesses and organizations that reflect inclusion, equity, and community alignment.

LGBTQIA+ Pride on Maui creates a high-visibility platform that engages both local communities and a diverse visitor base. This presents a strategic opportunity for partners to expand brand reach, build meaningful connections, and demonstrate a clear commitment to supporting LGBTQIA+ communities, including transgender and Māhū individuals.

Partnership positions your organization within a widely attended, culturally grounded event that continues to grow in both reach and impact. Sponsors receive meaningful exposure through on-site engagement, community recognition, and integrated promotion across Pride-related outreach and communications.

This is more than sponsorship. It is a strategic investment in community impact, brand alignment, and long-term visibility within a market that values authenticity and inclusion.

Partner with us to strengthen your presence, elevate your brand, and align with a movement that continues to lead with purpose, visibility, and pride.

This space is intentionally created to honor and uplift MVPFAFF+ communities, which includes Māhū, Vakasalewalewa, Palopa, Fa’afafine, Akavaine, Fakaleitī, Fakafifine and other Pacific Islander gender-diverse identities. It recognizes their cultural significance, leadership, and continued presence across Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

Pride on Maui takes place on the ancestral lands of Native Hawaiian people. These lands carry generations of ʻike (knowledge), culture, and stewardship that continue today. This space acknowledges and respects the deep connection between people, identity, and ʻāina (land), and honors the responsibility to show up with care, humility, and intention.

Creating dedicated space for MVPFAFF+ communities is a commitment to visibility, safety, and belonging. It centers cultural identity, lived experience, and community leadership while ensuring access to affirming resources, connection, and support.

This is about more than inclusion. It is about recognizing who has always been here, uplifting voices that have shaped our communities, and ensuring that Pride reflects the full strength and diversity of Hawaiʻi.

“The third gender of the Pacific stands in Pride as caretakers of our people, our ʻāina (Land), and the vast ocean that connects us, carrying ʻike (knowledge) forward as a living bridge between where we come from and where we are going.”
