Testing and knowing your status are important factors in prevention. All of our testing services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. We offer HIV, Hep-C, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea testing. All testing is conducted by appointments. Our HIV and Hep-C tests take 20 minutes for your results, while syphilis tests take 10 minutes. However, your appointment will last 30 minutes or more. We offer STI testing in Lahaina twice monthly. We also test in Hana, and on Molokai and Lanai. The team does outreach at our local bars and beaches to reach as many community members as possible with resources.
Our testing hours may vary so please call (808) 242-4900 to inquire.
CLINICAL SERVICES
CLINICAL SERVICES
Maui AIDS Foundation’s Clinical Services Department encompasses its PrEP Program, Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Program, and Bridge Program, all of which are offered at no cost to at-risk and underserved communities of Maui County.
-
The PrEP Program provides medications, labs, case management and referrals for individuals seeking Pre-Exposure-Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV. MAF’s on-staff nurse practitioner provides his services for free and currently monitors follow-up labs for dozens of individuals in the community.
-
With the collaborative Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Program, MAF partners with the Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) to further augment MAF’s PrEP and testing services. The program provides screening and treatment of chlamydia and gonorrhea for free with supplies and medications provided by DOH. Testing, treatment and monitoring for syphilis is also provided at no cost thanks to a similar agreement with DOH.
-
MAF’s Bridge Program provides fast-tracked HIV labs, medications, and verifications to help “bridge” people living with HIV (PLWH) into HIV Specialty Care services. The program recognizes the immediate, unmet healthcare needs of newly diagnosed individuals as well as PLWH who move to Maui County without any health services in place. The Bridge Program also oversees Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) services, as well as the scheduling and administering of shots for patients of Oahu’s Clint Spencer Clinic who qualify for injectable HIV medications.
MAF’s Clinical Services Department maintains its own credentialing with insurance companies and has implemented its own electronic medical record system, however in alignment with MAF’s goal of offering free, comprehensive sexual health services for Maui County, it does not charge clients, patients or insurance for the services provided.
